We are excited to announce that our Made Local Pop-Up is finally open at the World of Wedgwood! Our carefully selected lineup of over 30 makers and creators is waiting to be discovered in the V&A Wedgwood collections Gift Shop, for 8 weeks only!
This is a very exciting opportunity for Curated Makers as we set up shop in the home town of British craftsmanship, Stoke-on-Trent. The World of Wedgwood is a fascinating venue that provides visitors with a unique experience that celebrates our country’s deep design heritage. It really is the perfect location to spend a day exploring modern and historic arts & crafts, and of course, to treat yourself to the perfect afternoon tea!
Stoke-On-Trent is soaked in history and predominantly known for its revolutionary ideas and development of the Pottery industry since the mid-seventeenth century. With a craft culture that runs so deep in and around the city, the search for local makers was like being a kid in a candy store!
At the World of Wedgwood, you can delve into the story of Josiah Wedgwood, the ‘Father of English Potters’, and explore the many artists, designers and makers whose ceramic creations have transformed society and industry. You can also take a factory tour to see how Wedgwood designs are brought to life from casting, firing, glazing, and hand decorating!
So why not come and make a day of it! Surround yourself with extraordinary creativity, past and present. You'll be able to find us in the gift shop, at the end of the V&A Wedgwood Collection, or you can simply head straight into the gift shop from the main entrance. Whether you're spending the day or simply stopping by, it's super easy and free to attend to support our lineup of local makers and shop small!
