On Wednesday 3rd May, we hosted our first-ever London Maker Meet-Up in an exciting partnership with Art’otel London in Battersea, one of the most beautiful and stylish hotels in London hands down!
This pilot event aimed to bring together makers and artists for a morning of mixing and mingling, over the comfort of a cuppa. The event introduced makers to their hosts and the brilliant opportunities available, whilst giving them time to get to know like-minded individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and disciplines.
We were so pleased with the fantastic turnout of makers with such varied businesses and experiences to share. Attendees were greeted with breakfast pastries provided by the hotel and delicious brownies from Good Cake Days - one of the local Battersea bakers who attended the Meet-Up. After warming up with a cup of tea, upcoming opportunities to work with Curated Makers and the Art'otel London were shared with the room before moving onto a quick speed networking game. This meant that everyone who attended made at least 5 brand new connections, with time to continue getting to know each other afterwards, and leave their details on our skill swap board!

We want this to be the beginning of an exciting series of meet-ups in partnership with art'otel London. Focused on creating a welcoming and open space for small business owners to meet and mingle with other small business owners, within the beautiful setting of the art’otel’s creative rooms.
We want to grow a community of creative small business owners, in an environment where everyone feels involved. We believe Meet-Up events are needed to create a place for conversations to happen IRL and for every member to feel like they’ve taken something away from the event, whether that’s a learning, a new pal or an exciting new opportunity.
Thank you to everyone who came to our first London Meet-up and stepped outside of your comfort zone! We cannot wait to host another one in the future and look forward to meeting even more talented makers, artists and small business owners soon.
